Attractions

In addition to Dollywood, the number one attraction in Pigeon Forge, there are nearly 50 fun-filled attractions in town, which means that there’s literally something for everyone to see and do from sunrise to sunset! Go-cart tracks, bumper boats, arcade games, bungee jumping and miniature golf are just a few of the action-packed activities found in Pigeon Forge.

Dollywood, the Smoky Mountain Family Adventure

Pigeon Forge tourism got a huge boost in 1986 when Dolly Parton, an East Tennessee native, gave her name, energy and talents to Dollywood, the Smoky Mountain Family Adventure. An immediate hit, the versatile facility has expanded annually with a goal to offer entertainment for all ages. Because Dolly grew up with the Smokies as her playground, she has themed her entertainment park after a combination of childhood memories and the best of everything the Appalachian Mountains have to offer. Park themes can be found in attractions like Dreamland Forest, America’s largest tree house; in rides such as the Tennessee Tornado and Daredevil Falls; and in stage productions, crafts and special events.

Each spring Dollywood brings entertainers from around the world to East Tennessee during Festival of Nations, a reflection of the international sites and sounds that Dolly has experienced during her career.

Adventures in Imagination features a state-of-the-art, interactive museum reflecting Dolly’s life, and a four-dimensional simulator ride for a thrilling journey through the Smoky Mountains. KidsFest, a summertime event, is the largest kids festival in the South.

New in 2007 is Mystery Mine, a s teel coaster where a 1,811-foot track travels through an abandoned coal mine.  Uncertain encounters and amazing maneuvers await, including a hair-raising 95-degree, 85-foot vertical drop that plunges into darkness!

New in 2008 is SwiftWater Run, a themed water raft ride equipped with powerful soaker guns. Nine rafts, each with room for eight passengers, follow a 500-foot channel. As the rafts navigate the waters, the battle begins as passengers, each armed with a soaker gun, take aim at each other and more than 100 targets along the way, including large-scale “talking animals”—beavers, skunks, otters, bears and more. Some of the targets shoot back while others display a variety of special effects, creating surprises at every turn and ensuring that no two rides are ever exactly the same.

The park is beautifully landscaped with flowers and shrubs and is surrounded by the natural wonder of the Great Smoky Mountains. Dollywood, Tennessee’s number one man-made attraction and the state’s only theme park, welcomes more than 2 million visitors each year from April through December.

Dollywood ’ s Splash Country

This fun-filled water adventure park covers nearly 25 acres and includes thrilling water slides, a 25,000-square-foot wave pool, a mountain raft ride, a relaxing lazy river ride, a children¹s activity area, Big Bear Plunge (a 548-foot-long white water rafting experience) and plenty of sun and shade areas. Splash Country employs award-winning certified lifeguards and utilizes the Safe-T-Zone locator system.

Dinosaur Walk Museum

Life-sized replicas of prehistoric creatures fill this fascinating museum. Visitors are greeted by a menacing T-Rex and other dinosaurs as they tour this educational and fun-filled collection.

Flyaway

Following a brief orientation, Flyaway visitors can accomplish the feat of skydiving . . . indoors! This vertical wind tunnel allows visitors to break the bonds of gravity and soar above the ground. The Pigeon Forge facility is one of the few indoor skydiving simulators in the nation.

Movie Rider

An indoor, virtual roller coaster is just one of the thrilling “rides” visitors experience at this one-of-a-kind attraction. Dynamic motion seating, digital surround sound and giant-screen projection thrust visitors into the action of specially produced high-tech film rides.

The Old Mill

Click to enlarge! In continuous operation since 1830, this historic structure and its 24-foot wheel generated electricity for Pigeon Forge until 1930. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the mill is one of the city’s most photographed locations. Visitors can tour the mill and purchase a variety of products made on site including corn meal, grits and flour.

Parkway Attractions

Visitors will find action from one end of the Pigeon Forge Parkway to the other. Whether it’s a friendly game of miniature golf, a fast-paced go-cart ride, or a thrilling bungee jump, you’ll find the action you crave along the Pigeon Forge Parkway.

Zorb

Straight from New Zealand and for the first time in the US you can experience the revolutionary Zorb. It's 11 feet high, 11 feet fat, it's round and it's bouncy. You can jump inside and roll down a 700 foot long hill. It's TOTALLY cool & fun! Try the Hydro Zorb for a slippery ride that's like a cross between a waterfall and a roller coaster or the Harnessed Zorb for maximum G-force as you are strapped in rotating head over heels. Open year round rain or shine.

WonderWorks

Look what landed in Pigeon Forge! Tennessee's only upside down attraction, WonderWorks is an amusement park for the mind! It features more than 150 interactive exhibits that combine fun and education, and will surely delight you and your family!
